I've been thinking about completely giving up basemaking. Or at least having a long break. I have so much other personal issues going on in my life right now so I don't need any extra pressure.

I don't know what I'm trying to achieve with tracing other people's art. I would like to concentrate on my original art more.

I've became strangely popular on this account and nearly every base I submit hits the front page, which means the same 'traced-bases-are-shitty-art-theft-and-you're-a-cunt' comments on them. It's really frustrating.

I personally use bases to design outfits for my characters and practicing pixel drawing and shading. For pose references I use photographs, stocks etc. since I've noticed that the majority of bases have terrible anatomy flaws and therefore won't help you learn correct anatomy.

I'm not judging you if you use/make bases. It's just not my thing anymore so I have to move on.
